Dr Neville Owen of the University of Queensland suggests people should simply pay more attention to sitting less. Most of us apparently spend more than half our waking hours on what he describes as "sedentary activities". And the longer people sit, the more likely they are to become overweight, irrespective of the amount of food consumed.
